Il 27 dicembre del 2008 Israele iniziò un massacro contro Gaza, con l’attacco denominato “Piombo Fuso”: in tre settimane di bombardamenti di cielo, mare e terra, furono assassinate 1400 persone, tra cui 430 bambini, e 5360 restarono ferite. L’attacco distrusse 6 strutture ospedaliere, 3 scuole, tutti i campi, le serre gli alberi, e le industrie. Non furono risparmiate né ambulanze né luoghi di culto, così come non ci fu alcun riguardo per le abitazioni civili: 5000 famiglie rimasero senza tetto, 90 mila persone fuggirono di casa. La Striscia di Gaza fu ricoperta da 1 milione di kg di bombe, lanciate dall’esercito israeliano che usò anche armi di distruzione di massa con uranio impoverito, e fosforo bianco. Per non avere testimoni ai suoi crimini Israele vietò l’ingresso nella Striscia ai giornalisti internazionali e solo poche voci riuscirono a far sapere al mondo del massacro in corso. Tra queste Vittorio Arrigoni, assassinato lo scorso aprile, che ci ha lasciato il suo blog di informazione, http://guerrillaradio.iobloggo.com/, riattivato da pochi giorni, e il libro su piombo fuso dal titolo: Restiamo Umani.
