Presentate stamattina, venerdì 21 aprile, presso la Sala Gemellaggi di Palazzo di Città, le manifestazioni per la 72ª Celebrazione della Liberazione e l’iniziativa “il Giardino della Resistenza”.
Erano presenti, il Sindaco Vincenzo Servalli, l’Assessore ai grandi eventi e verde pubblico, Enrico Polichetti, il Consigliere delegato alla pubblica istruzione, Vincenzo Passa, il rappresentante dell’Anpi (Associazione Nazionale Partigiani d’Italia), Luca Pastore, la presidente Mena Avagliano e Francesco Musumeci dell’Associazione Agorà.
Martedì prossimo, 25 aprile, alle ore 9.30 è prevista la Santa Messa presso la Concattedrale, a seguire, alle 10.15, la deposizione della corona d’alloro al monumento ai caduti di tutte le guerre in piazza Abbro, alle 10.30 la commemorazione da parte dell’Anpi e dell’associazione Agorà, dei partigiani Vincenzo Salsano e Gennaro Garignola, con la piantumazione nel Parco Falcone e Borsellino di viale Crispi, di due aceri rossi e l’apposizione di due targhe ricordo.
La presidente di Agorà, Mena Avagliano e Luca Pastore dell’Anpi, hanno lanciato il progetto “Il Giardino della Resistenza”: – “ogni 25 aprile, in piena sintonia con l’Amministrazione Servalli – hanno affermato – nel Parco Falcone e Borsellino pianteremo un acero rosso e posta una targa per onorare gli uomini e donne che hanno difeso ciò che oggi pare scontato: la nostra libertà. Inoltre, stiamo pensando anche a realizzare un vero e proprio percorso della memoria che potrà essere anche didattico per le nuove generazioni, attraverso il quale illustrare l’orrore delle guerre e i drammi che hanno causato nella vita dei popoli”.
Il primo acero, piantato nel 2015, fu dedicato alla staffetta partigiana Bianca Bracci Torsi, lo scorso anno, invece, a Mario Zinna, quest’anno saranno due gli aceri, con le relative targhe, per ricordare il cavese, Vincenzo Salsano, che ha salvato moltissimi partigiani nella Repubblica di Salò, scoperto dai fascisti, fu condannato a morte ma riuscì a fuggire e si unì con il nome di battaglia “Boris”, alla 45ª brigata d’assalto; Gennaro Carignola, fu l’organizzatore della brigata che portò il suo nome e con 180 uomini partecipò attivamente alla Resistenza e alla Liberazione nel Lazio.
“Anche oggi non è scontato e non lo deve essere – afferma il Sindaco Servalli – godere della libertà e vivere in serenità e in pace. Basta girare l’angolo di casa nostra e ritrovarsi immersi nelle miserie delle guerre in atto e in popoli ancora sotto il gioco dei totalitarismi. Se poi guardiamo in casa nostra, non mancano esempi di pericolosi populismi e spinte xenofobe e razziste che spesso agitano la nostra società a tutti i livelli. Bisogna, quindi, mantenere sempre alti i valori che ci hanno tramandato i nostri padri e abbiamo l’obbligo di trasmetterli ai nostri figli che non hanno vissuto le tragedie e non sanno cos’è stata la guerra e quali violenze ha causato”.
